On Saturday, February 8, 2003, Brothers Tim Lagarth, Hop Howard, Harold Smith, Paul Roles and Steve Hendry assisted the Hampton Elementary School Staff and parents in their Chicken Q fund raiser held at the Hampton Masonic Lodge. This Chicken Q was given to help raise money for an annual 3-day education field trip for many of the school's fifth graders to the Driftwood Nature Center near Cumberland Island. The money pays for the transportation, meals, and lodging and makes the trip possible for some students who would otherwise not be able to go. This fund raiser was a big success and there were approximately 1,500 plates sold. Many parents and teachers donated their time and money to help make it successful as well as many local lodge members and local businesses.
