The Hampton Chief of Police, Bud Smith, gave an excellent
talk on Home and Personal Safety that was very timely, given the
increased threat from terrorism prevailing in this country. With the
Atlanta Air Traffic Control Center and the Atlanta Raceway both located

comments and recommendations were very interesting. Donald DeKalb,
Grand Secretary, reported that the Grand Treasurer, J. Aubrey Lewis,
had resigned and Merrill Lynn Clark had been appointed as his
replacement. Bro. Clark was to be
installed at the 6th District Convention on May 3rd at 9 AM . All

Hampton Elementary
School Fundraiser
On Saturday, February 8, 2003, Brothers Tim Lagarth, Hop
Howard, Harold Smith, Paul Roles and Steve Hendry assisted the Hampton
Elementary School Staff and parents in their
Chicken Q fund raiser held at the Hampton
Masonic Lodge. This Chicken Q was given to help raise money for an
annual 3-day education field trip for many of the school's fifth
graders to the Driftwood Nature Center near Cumberland Island. The
money pays for the transportation, meals, and lodging and makes the
trip possible for some students who would otherwise not be able to go.
This fund raiser was a big success and there were approximately 1,500
plates sold. Many parents and teachers donated their time and money to
help make it successful as well as many local lodge members and local
businesses. On behalf of Hampton Elementary, Pam Miller and Deb Banks,
the school coordinators for the event, praised the Masons for giving
this wonderful gift to the young people at the school and making the
event such a success.
